Undoubtedly the most famous castle in Spain, the castle itself is built upon a large rock promontory, shaped like bow of a ship. A mighty fortress of Kings of Castile that was designed by different monarchs that each brought their own architectural taste.

This castle is not only impressive on the outside as it is on the inside. Inside the castle you will see the national crest of Spain to the Kings grand ballroom. Each room is super impressive!

Throughout the Middle Ages, it remained one of the favorite residences of the monarchs of the Kingdom of Castile and a key fortress in the defense of the kingdom

Alcazar was built to be a palace but over the years it has become a state prison, a Royal Artillery College, and even a military academy. Carlos III founded the Royal  College of Artillery in Segovia in 1762, this academic center became a model of its kind. The center trained the officers of the Spanish army artillery and is possibly the oldest active Military Officer Training Center in the world!

This castle also shows amazing views of the city of Segovia!

This castle is truly impressive in every way, even Walt Disney knew that. While designing the castle at Walt Disney World, Walt Disney grew inspiration from the Alcazar castle. He liked the moat around the castle and the gorgeous view. Now millions of people visit Walt Disney World each year for the beautiful castle that looks just like Alcazar.
